The Radiorelics: Rock so Hard!

The RadioRelics

Don’t worry they’re still the same guys we know and love, here’s a promo video discussing some new ideas, their name change and a glimpse inside the new (named) and improved:

The Radiorelics!!

[Previously posted!!] Fresh out of Los Angeles, Ca MLKM (now The Radiorelics) graces stages around the city with their high energy rock shows. Instruments played by none other than the band mates themselves: Malcolm, James, Maxx, Bobby and Skip. I caught up with them after a show they had at Bugsby’s on May 1st, 2012. Check it out!!

As you can see, these amazing guys come together for an energetic and talented smash up of tunes that literally make your head nod. Recently the band covered a Jay Z and Kanye hit single, “Niggas in Paris”. They later remade it to be titled “Rock So Hard“. Download here! You heard it from the Street!

The Return Of Raymond, Mr. Raymond

usher-let-me-see

Usher has released a couple new tracks over the past month or two and the feedback of fans has been mainly positive with the last released track “Climax”. I think we can anticipate a wholesome album of pop, r&b, and hip-hop features. Check the latest one full of sex and bass! We’ll see if we can get a Confessions follow up out of his upcoming album set for late summer 2012 “Looking For Myself” OR flop… personally I can’t wait!

Cinco De Mayo: Santa Monica

Cinco Postcard

The origination for Cinco de Mayo, “The Fifth of May”, commemorates the conquering of the French army by the Mexicans at The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. It is mainly a regional holiday rejoiced and respected in the state capital city of Puebla and throughout the state of Puebla, but not as much in other parts of Mexico. Being that California is the melting pot it is, we all need a reason to celebrate, here’s one. ;)

Ay Yi Yi! What to do the Saturday after you smash your face with margaritas and tacos for cinco de mayo? Well, Come to the City of Santa Monica’s Cinco de Mayo Festival on Sunday May 6th from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. at Virginia Avenue Park.

The best place to be with friends and family! Enter your best salsa recipe in the Homemade Salsa Tasting Contest, play Lotería and win prizes, or participate in the Traditional Fashion Contest, and kids will enjoy playing games, rides and making crafts! This year’s festival will feature live entertainment with the salsa music of Bombachanté, the mariachi band Alta California de Carlos Villalobos, and a Folklórico dance performance by Herencia Mexicana.  Master of Ceremonies and performance artist, Maria Elena Gaitan brings interesting and humorous commentary on the historical significance of this cultural celebration.

Obviouslly, no Cinco de Mayo event would be complete without artisan vendors and traditional Mexican foods and delicious treats!

Parking is limited so please walk, bike (bike valet available) or take the Big Blue Bus.

Virginia Avenue Park is located at 2200 Virginia Avenue.
