Meatballs For All!
My faaavorite food is Italian food and with Italian food the staple plate is *drum-roll* Spaghetti! This plate can be made one million ways but this time I tried to keep it simple while spicing it up with some do-it-yourself homemade meatballs.
Ingredients:
1lb of what ever meat you choose (I chose ground Angus Beef)
1/2 link of Polish Kielbasa
1 yellow onion
1 green bell pepper
1 tomato
Tablespoon Garlic (fresh or paste)
Teaspoon salt & pepper (each)
Teaspoon crushed peppers
2 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 egg white
2 toasted and crumbled slices of sourdough bread
Teaspoon crushed oregano
1 can of tomato sauce
Fresh basil leaves
1 jar of spaghetti sauce (of your choice)
1 bag shredded mozzarella cheese.
Step 1: preheat the oven to 400 degrees. While the oven is heating, mince the onions and bell peppers and put them in a large mixing bowl with all italicized ingredients. Mix well. Let sit and chop Polish Kielbasa into 1/4 inch circular/ oval rounds.
Step 2: In a small to medium sized baking pan (at least 2-3 inches deep) spread all tomato sauce and fresh basil leaves evenly. Scooping small handfuls of meat make golf size meat balls molded by hand and Kielbasa, place pan into oven and let bake for 20-25min.
Step 3: While meatballs and sauce are baking use a tall pot to bring water with a few drops of olive oil so that the noodles wont stick together once boiled and strained of water. After water comes to a boil, drop the spaghetti inside. Cook 7-10min.
Step 4: Checking on the meat, sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese to the top of each meatball (I love cheese so I add more) place BACK into the oven, except this time, put it on broil so you can get a browning color with the cheese, sauce, and meat.
Step 5: Grab the nearest plate and a glass of your favoirte wine or dinner salad and enjoy, back meat-a-ballz-a!
Bonn Appetite!
